If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, such as Swansea or Cardiff. From Swansea, take the A465 towards Abergavenny. After approximately 18 miles, take the exit onto the A40 towards Llandovery. Continue on the A40 for about 9 miles until you reach Llandovery. Once in Llandovery, follow signs for the B4390 towards Llangadog. After about 4 miles, you'll come to the village of Llangadog. From Llangadog, take the minor road leading to Llyn y Fan Fach, where you can find parking at the designated car park (check for any parking fees, typically around £5 for the day). The car park is the starting point for the walking trails to the lake.

To reach Llyn y Fan Fach using public transport, take a train to Llandovery. Trains run regularly from major cities like Cardiff and Swansea to Llandovery. Once you arrive at Llandovery station, you'll need to take a local bus (the TrawsCymru service) towards Llangadog. The bus journey takes about 15 minutes. Alight at the stop in Llangadog. From there, you will need to walk to the minor road leading to Llyn y Fan Fach, which is roughly a 2-mile walk. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary and confirm the final leg of your journey as well.

If you're already in Llangadog, you can reach Llyn y Fan Fach on foot. Start from the village center, head towards the minor road that leads to the lake. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and is about 2 miles, following a well-trodden path through scenic countryside.
