Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to the Library of Birmingham, head towards the city center. Use the M6 motorway and take the A38(M) exit towards Birmingham. Follow signs for the city center and then for Centenary Square. There are several car parks nearby, such as the NCP Car Park on Cambridge Street, which charges approximately £2.50 per hour. Once parked, the library is a short 5-minute walk across the square.

• Train

  If you are taking the train, head to Birmingham New Street Station, which is well connected to various locations in the West Midlands. From the station, exit onto Stephenson Street and walk towards the Bullring shopping center. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Centenary Square. The Library of Birmingham will be on your left. Note that train fares vary, but a ticket from nearby towns usually costs around £5-£15.

• Bus

  Birmingham is well-served by an extensive bus network. You can take any bus that goes to the city center. Look for buses that stop at the 'Centenary Square' stop. Once you get off, the Library of Birmingham is right at the square. Bus fares typically range from £1.50 to £2.50 for a single journey.

• Metro

  If you are near the West Midlands Metro line, take a tram to the 'Birmingham Grand Central' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk through the city center towards Centenary Square. Follow signs for the library. A single tram ticket usually costs around £2.30.
