    From Whitby, head southwest on A169 towards Pickering. Continue on A169 for approximately 20 miles. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A64 towards York. After about 9 miles, take the exit for A1036 towards York City Centre. Continue on A1036 until you reach the junction for B1261. Turn left onto B1261, which will lead you directly to Castle Howard. Follow the signs to Castle Howard, which will be on your left side.

    Start by taking a local bus from Whitby to Scarborough. You can catch the bus from the bus station located in the town center. Once you arrive in Scarborough, transfer to a train bound for York. After arriving in York, head to the bus station and catch the X93 or 840 bus towards Malton. Get off at Castle Howard. The bus stop is directly outside the main entrance to Castle Howard.
