Car
If you are traveling by car, start on Route 9 heading towards Punta del Este. After approximately 30 km, take the exit toward Route 12. Continue on Route 12 for about 10 km, and then turn right onto a local road that leads directly to Laguna del Diario. Look for signs indicating Laguna del Diario as you approach. There is parking available at the lake.
Public Transportation
To reach Laguna del Diario via public transportation, take a bus from Montevideo to Punta del Este. The bus departs frequently from Terminal Tres Cruces. Upon arrival at the Punta del Este bus terminal, you can take local transportation or a taxi to Laguna del Diario, which is about 10 km away. Ensure you confirm the taxi fare beforehand, as it can vary.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Laguna del Diario. You can rent a bicycle in Punta del Este. Start cycling on Route 9 towards Maldonado and then take Route 12 as previously described. The scenic route offers beautiful views but make sure to carry water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way.
