Car
From Cuchilla Grande, head south on Ruta 39. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Ruta 9. Turn left onto Ruta 9 and continue driving for about 8 kilometers. You will see a sign for Cerro de los Toros on your right. Follow the signs, and you'll arrive at the base of the mountain. There is no entrance fee, but be sure to check parking availability.
Public Transportation
Take a local bus from Cuchilla Grande to the nearest town with services to Cerro de los Toros. You will need to catch a bus heading towards Maldonado. Ask the driver to let you off at the junction of Ruta 39 and Ruta 9. From there, you can either walk approximately 3 kilometers to the base of Cerro de los Toros or use a local taxi service, which may cost around 200-300 Uruguayan Pesos.
Taxi
If you prefer a direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Cuchilla Grande. This will provide a more comfortable and quicker journey. The taxi ride to Cerro de los Toros typically costs around 1000-1500 Uruguayan Pesos, depending on the negotiation with the driver. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes.
