Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Punta del Este, head northwest on Route 10 towards Route 9. Merge onto Route 9 and continue until you reach the intersection with Route 48. Take Route 48 eastbound for approximately 32 kilometers. Look for the sign for Artesana at km 3.600. The winery is located on the right side of the road. Ensure you check your fuel levels, as there are limited service stations along Route 48.
Public Transportation
To reach Artesana using public transport, start by taking a bus from Punta del Este to Montevideo. The bus departs regularly from the main terminal and costs around 300-400 Uruguayan Pesos. Once in Montevideo, you'll need to take another bus heading to Canelones. Look for buses that stop at Canelones, and the fare is approximately 100-150 Uruguayan Pesos. After arriving in Canelones, take a taxi or rideshare service to Artesana, which is about 15 kilometers away. Expect to pay around 500-700 Uruguayan Pesos for the taxi.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct approach from Montevideo, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app. The journey from Montevideo to Artesana is about 45 minutes and will cost you approximately 1500-2000 Uruguayan Pesos. This option is convenient if you are traveling with a group or have luggage, as it offers door-to-door service.
