Walking
If you are in downtown Maldonado, start at Plaza San Fernando. Head southeast on Avenida 18 de Julio towards Calle Sarandí. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Italia. Turn right onto Avenida Italia and walk until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Ruta 10, following the signs for Punta Ballena. Continue along Ruta 10 for about 8 kilometers until you reach the area of Punta Ballena. Look for the sign for 'Las Grutas' at 47 de la Mansa, Francisco Antonio Aime esq, which will be on your left.
Public Transport
From the central bus terminal in Maldonado, board a bus heading to Punta Ballena. Make sure to check the schedule for the latest departure times. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop closest to 'Las Grutas', which is near the intersection of Francisco Antonio Aime and 47 de la Mansa. Once you get off, walk about 5 minutes towards the waterfront, and you will find 'Las Grutas' at the specified address.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Maldonado. Start from Plaza San Fernando and head southeast on Avenida 18 de Julio. Continue onto Avenida Italia and follow it until you reach Ruta 10. Turn left onto Ruta 10 and cycle towards Punta Ballena. It’s about an 8-kilometer ride along this route. Keep an eye out for the 'Las Grutas' sign on your left at 47 de la Mansa, Francisco Antonio Aime esq.
