Getting There

  • Bus

    If you are in the center of Maldonado, head to the main bus terminal located on Avenida Lavalleja. Look for the bus heading to La Barra, which should be clearly marked. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the La Barra bus stop, exit the bus and walk east along Romildo Risso street. The Museo del Mar will be on your left side, just a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Maldonado. Start from the central square (Plaza San Fernando) and head east on Avenida Lavalleja. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 10. Turn left onto Route 10 and follow the road for about 3 kilometers. When you reach La Barra, turn right onto Romildo Risso street. The Museo del Mar will be on your right after a short ride.

  • Walking

    From the center of Maldonado, walk towards Plaza San Fernando and head east on Avenida Lavalleja. Continue straight until you reach Route 10. Cross the road and follow the pedestrian path towards La Barra. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will reach Romildo Risso street. Turn left, and you will find the Museo del Mar a short walk ahead on your left side.

    You can easily find a taxi in the center of Maldonado. Inform the driver that you want to go to Museo del Mar in La Barra. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to provide the address: Romildo Risso, 20001 La Barra. The taxi will drop you off right in front of the museum.
