Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Maldonado, head towards Avenida Acuña de Figueroa. Walk northeast until you reach the intersection with Calle 18 de Julio. Turn left onto Calle 18 de Julio and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will pass by various shops and cafes. When you reach the end of Calle 18 de Julio, turn right onto Avenida Gorlero, which will lead you directly towards the coastline. Continue walking along Avenida Gorlero until you see the famous Puerto de Punta del Este on your left, just after you pass the pedestrian bridge.

Bus
From Maldonado, you can take a local bus to Punta del Este. Head to the main bus terminal in Maldonado, located at Avenida General Artigas. Look for the bus line that says 'Punta del Este' (usually line 14 or similar). The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Punta del Este bus terminal, exit the terminal and walk towards the coastline. Head left along the waterfront, and you will soon see the Puerto de Punta del Este, located just a short distance away.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Maldonado. Start by heading east from the rental shop towards Calle 18 de Julio. Follow this road until you reach Avenida Gorlero. Turn left onto Avenida Gorlero and cycle along the promenade. This scenic route will take you directly to the Puerto de Punta del Este, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the seaport and the surrounding area.
