Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Rocha, head east on Route 9 (Ruta 9) for about 25 kilometers. You will pass through the towns of La Paloma and Aguas Dulces. Continue on Route 9 until you see signs for Cabo Polonio. Turn right onto the dirt road that leads to Cabo Polonio. Note that the road is not paved and may be bumpy. You will need to park your car at the designated parking area before entering Cabo Polonio, as cars are not allowed within the village. The parking fee is approximately 200 UYU per day.

Public Transportation
From the main bus terminal in Rocha, take a bus to Valizas. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and costs around 200 UYU. Once you arrive in Valizas, you can take a 4x4 taxi service that operates to Cabo Polonio. The taxi ride costs approximately 300 UYU per person and takes about 30 minutes. It's advisable to confirm the schedule of the taxis, as they may vary based on the season.
