Car
From Rocha, take Route 9 (Ruta 9) heading northeast. After approximately 60 kilometers, you'll reach a junction. Here, follow the signs for Route 10 (Ruta 10) towards Cabo Polonio. Continue on Route 10 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Cabo Polonio. Note that access to Cabo Polonio is restricted to 4x4 vehicles due to sandy roads. You can park your car at the designated parking area and then take a 4x4 vehicle from the parking lot to Cabo Polonio, which costs around 300 Uruguayan pesos per person for a round trip.
Public Transportation
From Rocha, take a bus from the main bus terminal to Valizas. Companies like 'COT' operate this route. The bus ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Valizas, you'll need to take a 4x4 vehicle to Cabo Polonio. The cost for the 4x4 ride is approximately 300 Uruguayan pesos round trip. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as they can be limited.
