Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Punta del Este, which is the nearest major city. From Punta del Este, take Route 10 heading east towards José Ignacio. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will see signs for Chihuahua Beach (Playa Chihuahua) on your right. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the beach after a short drive down a dirt road. Parking is available near the beach, but be prepared for a small fee if required.
Public Transportation
To reach Chihuahua Beach using public transportation, you can take a bus from Punta del Este. Look for the bus service to José Ignacio, which typically operates several times a day. Once you arrive in José Ignacio, you can either take a taxi or a local ride-sharing service to Chihuahua Beach, which is about a 10-minute drive away. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may vary, and the fare for the bus is approximately UYU 100-150 (about $3-4).
Taxi or Ride-sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing app like Uber from either Punta del Este or José Ignacio. A taxi from Punta del Este to Chihuahua Beach may cost around UYU 800-1200 (approximately $20-30) depending on traffic. From José Ignacio, the cost will be lower, around UYU 300-500 ($7-12). Always confirm the fare before starting your trip.
