If you are driving within Canyonlands National Park, start at the Island in the Sky Visitor Center. From there, head south on the main park road (Utah Highway 313). Stay on this road for another 8 miles, and you will find the parking area for the Petrified Dunes on your left. Look for the signs indicating the trailhead, which is well-marked.
