Getting There

• Car

  From Cedar Valley, head southeast on UT-68 S (also known as Redwood Road) towards the junction with I-15. Merge onto I-15 S and continue for approximately 15 miles. Take exit 57 for UT-130 S toward Parowan. Turn left onto UT-130 S and continue for about 8 miles. Then, turn right onto Old Highway 91 and follow the signs toward the Old Gypsum Quarry. You'll find the quarry entrance about 5 miles down this road. Note: The roads leading to the quarry may not be paved, so be cautious if driving a standard car.

• Public Transportation

  Using public transportation can be less direct. Start at the nearest bus stop in Cedar Valley and take a bus to Cedar City. From Cedar City, check if there are local shuttles or services that can take you to Parowan or directly to the Old Gypsum Quarry. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as service may be limited. Once you get closer, you may need to arrange for a rideshare or taxi to reach the quarry entrance, as public transport may not take you directly there.

• Hiking

  If you are already near the Old Gypsum Quarry, there is a short hiking path leading to the site. The path is well-marked and is approximately 0.4 miles off the main paved trail. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and bring water for the hike. This option is ideal for those looking for a scenic and active way to approach the quarry.
