• Car

  If you're traveling by car, you can reach Mexican Hat Rock by taking US-163, which is easily accessible from various locations in the Colorado Plateau. If you're coming from Monument Valley, head north on US-163 for about 20 miles until you reach the small town of Mexican Hat. Once you enter Mexican Hat, look for Mexican Hat Rock Road on your right. Follow this road for about 1 mile until you see the iconic rock formation on your left. There is no fee to park at the site.

• Public Transportation + Taxi or Rideshare

  If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take a Greyhound bus or a local shuttle service to Bluff, Utah, which is approximately 35 miles from Mexican Hat. From Bluff, you will need to hire a taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Mexican Hat Rock. The taxi fare from Bluff to Mexican Hat typically costs around $50-$70. Once you arrive in Mexican Hat, ask your driver to take you to Mexican Hat Rock Road; the rock formation is easily visible from the road.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, biking is also an option. If you are in Bluff, you can rent a bike and cycle the approximately 35 miles along US-163 to Mexican Hat. The route is scenic but be prepared for a challenging ride with some hills. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are limited services along the way. Upon arrival in Mexican Hat, Mexican Hat Rock is just a short ride down Mexican Hat Rock Road.
