Car
From Deer Valley, start by heading south on Deer Valley Drive towards US-40. Merge onto US-40 W and continue for about 4 miles. Take the exit toward Park City/Cottonwood Canyons and merge onto UT-224 S. Follow UT-224 S for approximately 5 miles, then merge onto I-80 E. Take the exit for UT-210 S towards Little Cottonwood Canyon. Continue on UT-210 S for about 10 miles, and then you will arrive at Alta Ski Area, which is located at Alta, UT 84092. There is parking available at the ski area, but be aware that parking fees may apply during peak season.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking the Park City Transit bus from Deer Valley to the Park City Transit Center. At the Transit Center, transfer to the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) ski bus route 972, which services the Cottonwood Canyons, including Alta Ski Area. The ski bus runs frequently during the ski season, but be sure to check the UTA schedule for exact timings. The fare for the bus is approximately $2.50 one-way. After a scenic ride, you will be dropped off directly at the Alta Ski Area.
Shuttle Service
Several shuttle services operate between Deer Valley and Alta Ski Area. You can book a shuttle through companies such as Park City Shuttle or Canyon Transportation. Make sure to reserve your spot in advance, especially during peak ski season. The cost of a shuttle ride typically ranges from $30 to $50 per person, depending on the service provider and the number of passengers.
