Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Dixie National Forest, head south on US-89. Continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach the intersection with UT-12. Turn left onto UT-12 East. Drive for about 15 miles until you see the sign for Kodachrome Basin State Park on your right. Follow the road for another 3 miles to arrive at the park entrance. Note that there is an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle, which can be paid at the entrance station.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited within Dixie National Forest. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to the nearest town, which is Bryce Canyon City. From Bryce Canyon City, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Kodachrome Basin State Park, which is about 30 minutes away by car. Expect to pay approximately $40-$60 for taxi or rideshare services. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance.

• Bicycle

  If you are feeling adventurous and are already within the park boundaries of Dixie National Forest, you can bike to Kodachrome Basin State Park from nearby trails. Ensure you are equipped with a good mountain bike, as some of the terrain can be rugged. The route will involve navigating through forested areas, so use a map or GPS to stay oriented. This option can take several hours depending on your cycling speed and the specific starting point within the forest.
