Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any location in Dixie, head to Highway 12. From the center of Dixie, take UT-12 E, which will take you through beautiful landscapes. Continue on UT-12 E for approximately 36 miles until you reach the junction with the Burr Trail Road. Turn left (north) onto Burr Trail Road and follow it for about 10 miles. Look for signs indicating Lower Calf Creek Falls. The parking area is located at the trailhead, which is well marked. Note that a parking fee may apply, so be sure to have cash or a credit card ready.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. You may need to use a shuttle service or taxi from nearby towns like Boulder or Escalante. If you are in Escalante, you can take a shuttle service that operates to various trailheads including Lower Calf Creek Falls. It is advisable to check local shuttle services in advance for schedules and fees. Once you arrive at the parking area, the hike to the falls is approximately 3 miles one way. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and water for your journey.

• Hiking

  If you are already in the area and looking for an adventure, you can hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls from the parking area. The trail is well-marked and takes about 3 hours to reach the falls. It is a relatively easy hike, but be prepared for some sandy sections and bring plenty of water, as temperatures can be high. The trailhead is located at the end of the Burr Trail Road, and once you park, follow the signs that lead you to the falls.
