Getting There

  • Walking

    Start in Escalante at the center of town, near the intersection of UT-12 and Main Street. Head south on Main Street for about 0.2 miles until you reach the junction with UT-12. Continue walking on UT-12, taking care to stay on the shoulder as this road can be busy. Walk about 2.5 miles along UT-12 until you reach the signed turn-off for Lower Calf Creek Falls. Here, you will find a dirt road leading to the trailhead. Take this dirt road, which is approximately 1 mile long, until you reach the Lower Calf Creek Falls trailhead parking area. The hike to the falls is approximately 3 miles one way, following the well-marked trail through beautiful canyons and along the creek.

    If you have a bicycle, begin at the center of Escalante and bike south on Main Street. After 0.2 miles, turn left onto UT-12 and continue biking for about 2.5 miles.
