Bicycle
From downtown Moab, head east on Main Street. After about 1 mile, turn left onto Sand Flats Road. Continue on Sand Flats Road for approximately 3 miles. You'll see Lion's Back on your right, a prominent rock formation. Be cautious as the road can be bumpy.
Hiking
Starting from the Moab Visitor Center, head east on Center Street. Continue until you reach Main Street and turn left. Walk along Main Street for about 1 mile until you reach Sand Flats Road. Turn right onto Sand Flats Road and hike for approximately 3 miles. Lion's Back will be visible on your right side. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water.
Public Transportation and Walking
Use the local shuttle service (check with the Moab Visitor Center for current routes and schedules) that goes towards Sand Flats Road. Once you reach the nearest stop on Sand Flats Road, walk approximately 1 mile east along the road. Lion's Back will be on your left. Confirm the shuttle’s schedule to ensure timely arrival.
