Walking
From the center of Mt Carmel, head south on Main Street (Utah Route 9) for about 0.5 miles. You will pass by a few local shops and cafes. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Utah Route 89. Turn left onto Utah Route 89 and walk for about 1 mile. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding hills. After approximately 1 mile, you will see a sign for Kayenta Trail on the right. Follow the sign, and in a few hundred feet, you will find the entrance to the trail.

If you have access to a bike, start from the Mt Carmel Visitor Center. Head south on Main Street (Utah Route 9) for about 0.5 miles. After passing the shops, turn left onto Utah Route 89. Cycle along this route for about 1 mile, enjoying the beautiful landscape. Keep an eye out for the signage for Kayenta Trail on your right. Once you spot the sign, turn onto the trail entrance.

For an adventurous route, begin your hike at the Mt Carmel Cemetery located at the end of Main Street. From the cemetery, take the trail that leads down to the river. Follow the riverbank for about 0.75 miles until you reach Utah Route 89. Turn right onto the highway and walk for another 0.5 miles. Look for the entrance to Kayenta Trail on your left. This hiking option offers a beautiful natural backdrop as you make your way to the trail.
