From the center of Mt. Carmel, head west on Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 89. Turn left onto Highway 89 and walk south for approximately 1 mile. You will notice a trailhead sign for W Rim Trail on your right, just before entering the Zion National Park boundary. Follow the trail signs to start your hike.

If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Mt. Carmel Post Office on Main Street. Ride west on Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach Highway 89. Take a left onto Highway 89 and cycle south for about 1 mile. The W Rim Trail trailhead will be on your right just before you reach the entrance to Zion National Park. Secure your bike at the trailhead and begin your hike.

If you are already at a nearby location like the Mt. Carmel Visitor Center, head south on the nearby trails towards Highway 89. Once you reach Highway 89, turn left and walk approximately 1 mile south. You will see the W Rim Trail trailhead on your right. Follow the trailhead signs to access the W Rim Trail.
