Getting There

Walking
Start at the center of Mt. Carmel, near the intersection of UT-9 and US-89. Head east on UT-9 for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance to Zion National Park. Continue walking along UT-9, following the signs for Zion National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, you will need to pay a fee if you haven't already. After entering the park, follow the main road for approximately 7 miles until you see signs for the Checkerboard Mesa View Area on your left.

From the center of Mt. Carmel, you can rent a bike from a local shop. Start your ride heading east on UT-9. After around 1.5 miles, you will reach the entrance to Zion National Park. Continue on UT-9, enjoying the scenic views as you ride. Keep biking for about 7 miles until you see the signage for Checkerboard Mesa View Area. Use the designated bike paths where available for safety.
