Getting There

• Car

  From any location within San Rafael Swell, head towards Highway 24. If you're coming from the town of Castle Dale, take Highway 10 south towards I-70, then merge onto I-70 west. Take exit 149 for Highway 24 towards Hanksville. Continue on Highway 24 for about 40 miles until you see signs for Goblin Valley State Park. Turn left onto the park road, which will lead you directly into the park entrance.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this area. If you are coming from a larger city like Salt Lake City, consider taking a bus to Price, Utah. From Price, you would need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Goblin Valley State Park. Be sure to confirm availability of such services in advance, as they may be limited. The distance from Price to Goblin Valley State Park is approximately 60 miles.

• Bike

  For the more adventurous travelers, biking to Goblin Valley State Park is an option. However, this requires a good level of fitness and preparation. From the main road leading into the park, there are bike paths that can be accessed. Ensure you have adequate supplies, and consider starting from Hanksville, which is about 15 miles away from the park entrance.

• Walking/Hiking

  If you're already within the San Rafael Swell area and prefer a more immersive experience, consider hiking to Goblin Valley from nearby trails. This is not a common route as it can be strenuous and is not well-marked. Make sure you're equipped with a map, plenty of water, and possibly a GPS device. The most accessible hiking routes will lead you towards the park from the surrounding desert terrain.
