Car
From Snowbird Ski Resort, head northeast on Little Cottonwood Canyon Road (UT-210) for approximately 4.5 miles. You will pass by the Alta Ski Area. Look for signs directing you to Mill-D North Snotel. The access road is typically unmarked, so keep your eyes peeled for any pullouts or trailheads along the way. Once you reach the area near the coordinates (40.6588305, -111.6368615), you may find parking available along the roadside. Be prepared for rough terrain if you continue on foot.
Public Transportation
Catch the UTA ski bus (Route 972) from Snowbird Ski Resort. The bus typically runs during the ski season and connects to various ski resorts in the area. Disembark at the stop closest to the junction of Little Cottonwood Canyon Road and the access road to Mill-D North Snotel. From there, it is about a 1-2 mile walk along the road. Please note that buses may have limited schedules, especially during off-peak hours, so check the UTA website for the latest schedules.
Hiking
If you're adventurous and prefer to hike, after reaching the end of the parking area near Mill-D North, you can follow the hiking trails that lead towards Mill-D North Snotel. There are various paths, and it’s advisable to have a map or use a GPS-enabled device to ensure you stay on track. The hiking distance from the parking area to the Snotel site is approximately 1 mile, and the trail can be steep in sections. Ensure you are wearing proper hiking boots and are prepared for changes in weather.
