Car
From Solitude Mountain Resort, head east on Solitude Mountain Road. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (UT-190). Turn right onto UT-190 and follow it for approximately 5 miles. As you approach Park City, look for signs for Empire Pass. Turn left onto Empire Pass Road and continue for about 2 miles until you reach the Empire Pass View Area parking lot. Note that parking may require a fee, so be prepared to pay for parking if necessary.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the bus from Solitude Mountain Resort to the Park City Transit Center. You can catch the bus at the Solitude bus stop. Once at the Transit Center, transfer to the bus heading towards Empire Pass. The total travel time may vary, so check the schedule ahead of time. Upon reaching the Empire Pass stop, you will need to walk about 0.5 miles to reach the Empire Pass View Area. This option may also incur a small fare for the bus ride.
Biking or Hiking
For the more adventurous, consider biking or hiking from Solitude Mountain Resort. Take the same route as if you were driving, heading east on Solitude Mountain Road. The distance to Empire Pass View Area is approximately 7 miles one way. Be sure to wear appropriate gear for the elevation change and terrain.
