Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown St. George, start at the St. George Town Square. Head north on Main Street towards 400 N. Continue on Main Street for about half a mile until you reach 700 N. Turn right onto 700 N and walk for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with 1500 E. At this intersection, you will see a sign for the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. Turn left onto 1500 E and follow it as it curves into the reserve. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the reserve.

    Upon entering the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, you will find the trailhead for Scout Cave marked clearly with signage. The trail is about 1.5 miles long. Follow the trail as it leads you through the desert landscape. It will be a moderately steep ascent, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Keep an eye out for trail markers and enjoy the scenic views as you approach Scout Cave.

    Once you reach Scout Cave, take your time to explore the area. The cave offers an incredible view of the surrounding landscape and is a great spot for photos.
