Getting There

• Car

  From Uinta Mountains, head south on US-191 S. Drive approximately 60 miles until you reach the junction with US-6 W. Take the exit onto US-6 W toward Price. Continue on US-6 W for about 30 miles until you reach I-15 S. Merge onto I-15 S and follow the signs for 90 miles until you reach exit 188 for US-50 E toward Delta. Stay on US-50 E for about 50 miles, then take a left onto UT-24 E. Follow UT-24 E for approximately 30 miles until you reach the entrance of Capitol Reef National Park.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from the Uinta Mountains area to Salt Lake City. From there, take a Greyhound or another intercity bus service to Hanksville, Utah. Once in Hanksville, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 30 miles to Capitol Reef National Park. Please note that public transportation options may be limited, so it's advisable to check schedules in advance.

• Bike

  For the adventurous, biking to Capitol Reef National Park from Uinta Mountains is possible, but it will require good physical fitness. Start by taking the same route as driving, using US-191 S, US-6 W, and I-15 S. Be aware that this route spans over 150 miles, so plan to make this a multi-day biking trip with camping or lodging stops along the way. Ensure you have sufficient supplies and a reliable map or GPS device before setting off.
