Car
If you are driving, start from the city center of Vernal, Utah. Head south on US-191 S for about 15 miles. Then take a left onto UT-44 E and continue for approximately 25 miles. You will then arrive at the junction with the Mirror Lake Highway (UT-150). Turn right onto UT-150 and proceed for about 10 miles until you reach the Naturalist Basin trailhead. The parking area is located at approximately 40.7082792 latitude and -110.7973913 longitude.
Public Transportation and Hiking
If you are using public transportation, take the Greyhound bus to Vernal, Utah. Once you arrive, you will need to use a taxi service or ride-sharing app to reach the UT-44 E junction as public transport does not go directly to Naturalist Basin. After getting to UT-44 E, you can either arrange for a ride to the Mirror Lake Highway junction or consider hiking from there. Be prepared for a long hike of approximately 10 miles to reach Naturalist Basin from the highway, which involves navigating trail paths.
