Getting There

Take the exit toward Steinaker State Park, and follow the signs to the park entrance. The reservoir is located within the state park, about 2 miles from the exit.

  For those relying on public transportation, you can use local bus services (check with the Uintah Transportation District for schedules). Buses typically run from the main towns in Uintah Basin to Vernal. Once in Vernal, you can either use a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft to reach Steinaker Reservoir or arrange for a taxi.   For the adventurous, cycling to Steinaker Reservoir is another option. From Vernal, head southeast on US-40 E; however, be cautious as this is a busy highway.
