Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Samarkand, start at Registan Square, which is a major landmark. Head southeast on Ulugh Beg Street towards the intersection with Navoi Street. Continue straight to merge onto Tashkent Road (A-373) heading towards the outskirts of the city. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a roundabout. Take the second exit to stay on Tashkent Road. After another 1 kilometer, look for signs indicating the direction to Chupan Ata Mausoleum. Follow the signs to the mausoleum, which is approximately 2 kilometers from the roundabout. The mausoleum will be on your right, and you can enter the site from the main entrance.

    Begin your journey at the Samarkand Bus Station located near the center of the city. From the bus station, take a local bus (look for Bus No. 1 or 2) heading towards the outskirts. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Chupan Ata Mausoleum. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the stop closest to the mausoleum, which is well-marked. From there, it's a short walk of about 500 meters to the mausoleum entrance.
