Car
If you are traveling by car from the nearby areas in the Zarafshan Range, head towards the main highway leading to Khiva. Follow the signs for Khiva, which is approximately a 3-hour drive (around 200 km). As you approach Khiva, watch for signs directing you to the city center. Once in Khiva, navigate to the address А, Болтаева-41, which is located in the historical part of the city. Parking may be available nearby, but be prepared for possible fees.
Public Transportation
To reach Itchan Kala using public transport, first take a shared taxi or bus from Zarafshan to Urgench, which is the nearest major city to Khiva. This journey will take roughly 4-5 hours. From Urgench, you can find a minibus or taxi service to Khiva, which is about 35 km away. Once you arrive in Khiva, ask for directions to А, Болтаева-41. Most local residents will be familiar with Itchan Kala, as it is a significant tourist destination.
Walking
If you are already in Khiva, you can easily reach Itchan Kala on foot from the city center. From the main square in Khiva, head towards the old city gates. Follow the path alongside the ancient walls, which will lead you directly to Itchan Kala, located at А, Болтаева-41. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes, and it’s advisable to wear comfortable shoes as the streets can be uneven.
