Walking
From the Sistine Chapel, exit the chapel and head towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once outside, turn left and walk along Viale Vaticano. Continue straight until you reach Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, head towards the Tiber River, walking down Via della Conciliazione. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Once across, follow the road as it curves left, and you will see Castel Sant'Angelo on your right. The total walking distance is approximately 1.5 kilometers and should take about 20-25 minutes.
Public Transport
From the Sistine Chapel, exit towards the Vatican Museums and walk to the nearest bus stop at Piazza San Pietro. Take bus number 87 towards 'Piazza Risorgimento'. Get off at the stop 'Castel Sant'Angelo'. From there, it's just a short walk to the entrance of Castel Sant'Angelo. The bus ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and the total journey time including waiting will be around 30 minutes.
