    Getting There

    Walking

    To get to Trastevere from the Sistine Chapel, exit the chapel and walk towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once outside, head towards the main road, Viale Vaticano. From there, turn left onto Viale Vaticano and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Via della Stazione di San Pietro. Cross the road and walk straight ahead onto Via di Porta Cavalleggeri. Follow this road until you reach the Tiber River. Once you reach the riverbank, turn right and walk along the river until you find the Ponte Sisto bridge. Cross the bridge and you will be in Trastevere. Walk straight ahead, and you will soon find yourself in the charming streets of Trastevere.
