Walking
From St. Peter's Square, exit the square through the main entrance facing the Basilica. As you step out, turn right onto Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight along this road, enjoying the view of the Tiber River on your left. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the Ponte Sisto bridge. Cross the bridge to get to the Trastevere area. Once across the bridge, follow the signs that lead you into Trastevere, and you will find yourself in the heart of this vibrant neighborhood filled with shops, restaurants, and charming streets.
Public Transport
From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest Metro station, Ottaviano (Line A), which is about a 15-minute walk away. Head east on Via della Conciliazione, then take a left onto Via Ottaviano. Once at the station, take the Metro towards Anagnina. Change at Termini station to Line B, and then take the Metro towards Laurentina. Get off at the Trastevere station. From there, it’s a short walk to the center of Trastevere where you can explore.
