Walking
Exit St. Peter's Basilica through the main entrance, facing the square. Once outside, turn right and walk towards the colonnade. Continue walking along the edge of the square until you reach the main road, Via della Conciliazione. Cross the street at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight until you reach the Tiber River. Turn left along the riverbank and follow the path for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several bridges and beautiful views of the city. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Ponte Sisto. Cross the bridge and head straight until you reach the intersection with Via di San Francesco a Ripa. Turn right and continue walking for about 300 meters. The Chiesa di San Francesco a Ripa will be on your left at Piazza di S. Francesco d'Assisi, 88.

From St. Peter's Basilica, walk towards the nearest bus stop located at the end of Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 23, which will take you towards the Trastevere area. Stay on the bus for 6 stops, then get off at the stop named 'Piazza di S. Francesco a Ripa'. From the bus stop, walk straight down Via di San Francesco a Ripa for about 200 meters. You will find the Chiesa di San Francesco a Ripa on your right at Piazza di S. Francesco d'Assisi, 88.
