    From the Sistine Chapel, exit through the main entrance and proceed towards the Vatican Museums exit. As you exit, you will find yourself in the Vatican City area. Head straight towards the large courtyard known as St. Peter's Square. You will see the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica in front of you. Walk across the square towards the basilica. After passing the basilica, continue walking towards the right side, where you will find an entrance to the Apostolic Palace. The Apostolic Palace is not directly open to the public, but you can view its exterior and the surrounding gardens.
