Getting There

  • Walking

    From St. Peter's Square, head towards the large colonnades that surround the square. Walk towards the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you reach the basilica, turn left and exit through the left side of the basilica. Continue walking straight, crossing the bridge over the Tiber River (Ponte Sant'Angelo). After crossing the bridge, continue straight on Via di Ponte Sant'Angelo until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Lungotevere Castello. Follow this road, and you will see Bastione San Giovanni on your left, right next to the Castel Sant'Angelo.
