Walking
From St. Peter's Square, head towards the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you exit the square, turn left onto Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight along this road for about 1 kilometer (approximately 15 minutes on foot). You will see Castel Sant'Angelo ahead as you approach the Tiber River. The entrance is located at Lungotevere Castello, 50. It’s a straight path, and you can enjoy the view of the river along the way.
Public Transport
From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest bus stop at 'Piazza San Pietro' which is located at the exit of the square. Take bus number 81 or 87 towards 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore'. After 5 stops, get off at 'Piazza Cavour'. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Head towards the river, cross the bridge, and follow the signs to Castel Sant'Angelo located at Lungotevere Castello, 50.
