Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head southeast towards the entrance gate. Once you reach the main road, turn right onto Viale Vaticano. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. At this point, you will see the impressive St. Peter's Basilica ahead of you. Keep walking in the same direction, passing by the Vatican Museums on your left. After approximately 15 minutes, you will arrive at P.za di S. Giovanni in Laterano. The Pontifical Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs is located at P.za di S. Giovanni in Laterano, 14.

From the Vatican Gardens, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Viale Vaticano. Board the bus number 81 or 982 towards 'Piazza Venezia'.
