Walking
From the Vatican Gardens, exit the gardens through the main entrance. As you leave, you will find yourself on Viale Vaticano. Turn left and walk along the avenue until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. Cross the street carefully, and continue straight ahead. You will pass by the Castel Sant'Angelo on your right. Keep walking straight until you reach the Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, head towards the main entrance of the square, and continue straight ahead, passing the colonnades until you reach the end of the square. Follow the road that leads you to Via del Corso. Turn left on Via del Corso and continue walking until you reach Piazza di Spagna. The famous Spanish Steps will be in front of you.

From the Vatican Gardens, exit through the main entrance and walk towards the nearest bus stop located on Viale Vaticano. Catch Bus 49, which will take you towards the city center. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina.' From there, walk straight to the intersection and turn left onto Via del Corso. Continue walking until you reach Piazza di Spagna. The Spanish Steps will be on your right.
