Walking
If you are at the entrance of Vatican Necropolis, head towards the Vatican Museums. Exit the museums and make your way towards the Vatican Gardens. Continue walking straight until you see the large gate leading out of Vatican City. Once you exit, turn left and follow the path until you reach the main road. Cross the road and look for the signs directing you to the metro station.
Public Transport
From Vatican Necropolis, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the Piazza San Pietro. Board bus number 64 towards Termini. Ride for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the Termini station. From there, transfer to the metro line B towards Laurentina. After several stops, get off at the Ostia Antica station, which is the closest stop to Ostia. Follow the signs to exit the station and you will find yourself in Ostia.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle near the Vatican. Exit Vatican Necropolis and head towards the main road. Follow the bike lanes toward the Tiber River and continue cycling along the banks. This scenic route will take you directly to Ostia, where you can lock your bike and explore the area.
Taxi or Rideshare
For a more direct route, you can use a taxi or rideshare service. From Vatican Necropolis, request a ride to Ostia. The driver will pick you up outside the Vatican area.
