Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Brattleboro, start at the intersection of Main St and High St. Head south on Main St toward the Connecticut River for about 0.5 miles. At the intersection with Route 5 (Putney Rd), turn left. Continue walking along Route 5 for approximately 1.5 miles, passing several shops and eateries. After crossing the Brattleboro town line, keep an eye out for Old Guilford Rd on your right. Turn right onto Old Guilford Rd. Fort Dummer State Park will be about 1 mile ahead on the left, marked by a sign. The entrance to the park is easy to spot.

  • Bicycle

    Begin at the Brattleboro Common area near Main St. Head south on Main St, then take a left onto Route 5 (Putney Rd). Cycle along Route 5 for about 1.5 miles. Be cautious as this road can be busy. Look for Old Guilford Rd on your right. Turn onto Old Guilford Rd and continue for about 1 mile. Fort Dummer State Park will appear on your left. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle.

    From downtown Brattleboro, walk to the Brattleboro Transit Center located on Flat St. Board the Route 1 bus heading towards Putney. The bus will take you along Route 5. Ask the driver to notify you when you reach Old Guilford Rd. After disembarking, walk approximately 1 mile down Old Guilford Rd, and you will find Fort Dummer State Park on your left.
