Start from the center of Middlebury at the intersection of Main St and College St. Head east on College St towards the Middlebury College campus. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 7. Cross over to the west side of Route 7 and continue walking north along the sidewalk for approximately 1.5 miles. You will pass several shops and local eateries. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating New Haven. After about 1.5 miles, look for Halpin Covered Bridge Rd on your left. Turn onto Halpin Covered Bridge Rd and continue for about 0.3 miles. The bridge will be on your right.

If you have access to a bike, start at the Middlebury College campus. Head east on College St towards the intersection with Main St. Turn right onto Main St and continue to the intersection with Route 7. Turn left onto Route 7 and follow the bike path along the road heading north for approximately 1.5 miles. Look for Halpin Covered Bridge Rd on your left. Turn onto Halpin Covered Bridge Rd and ride for about 0.3 miles until you see the bridge on your right.
