Car
From the main entrance of Smugglers' Notch State Park, drive north on Vermont Route 108. Continue on this road for approximately 3 miles until you reach the parking area for the Sunset Ridge Trail, located on your right. The parking lot is marked and can accommodate several vehicles. Please note that there may be a parking fee of around $5 for a daily pass.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Green Mountain Transit bus service to the nearest stop near Smugglers' Notch State Park. From the bus stop, it is about a 1.5-mile walk to the Sunset Ridge Trailhead. Head north on Vermont Route 108, and look for the trail parking area on your right. Be sure to check the bus schedule for exact times, as service may be limited.
Walking
If you are already within Smugglers' Notch State Park and wish to walk to Sunset Ridge Trail, locate the park's main trail signs. Follow the signs directing you towards Vermont Route 108. Once you reach Route 108, turn right and walk approximately 0.5 miles to the Sunset Ridge Trail parking area on your right. The walk is scenic, but be mindful of vehicle traffic.
