Walking
If you're starting from the center of Stowe, head north on Main Street toward the intersection with Mountain Road. Once you reach Mountain Road, turn left (west) and continue walking along this road. After about 1 mile, you will come to a small parking area on the right side of the road, which is also the entrance to the Sterling Pond Trail. The trailhead is located at 6443 Mountain Rd, Stowe, VT 05672. Look for trail markers and signs indicating the trail.
Public Transportation
From the Stowe Village, you can take the local bus service. Check with the Stowe Public Transit for the schedule. Board a bus that heads towards Mountain Road. Once you get off at the nearest stop to 6443 Mountain Road, walk back along Mountain Road until you reach the Sterling Pond Trailhead. It should take about 10 minutes on foot from the bus stop to the trail entrance.
Biking
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Stowe. Start by cycling north on Main Street until you reach Mountain Road. Turn left onto Mountain Road and cycle for approximately 1 mile. You will find the Sterling Pond Trailhead on the right side of the road at 6443 Mountain Rd, Stowe, VT 05672. Please be cautious of traffic and watch for any bike lanes.
