If you are already in Hoan Kiem District, the Ngoc Son Temple is located on an island in the Hoan Kiem Lake. To reach it, start at the Hoan Kiem Lake promenade. Walk along the edge of the lake towards the northern side. You will see a bridge called the The Huc Bridge leading towards the temple. Cross the bridge, which is painted bright red and is a picturesque sight, and you will arrive directly at Ngoc Son Temple. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes depending on your starting point.

Cyclo
You can hire a cyclo (a bicycle taxi) from anywhere in Hoan Kiem District. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Ngoc Son Temple or just say 'Hoan Kiem Lake'. Most drivers are familiar with the area. The ride is typically around 30,000 to 50,000 VND depending on your starting location. Enjoy the scenic ride and request the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the The Huc Bridge.

Bicycle Rental
For a more active approach, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops around Hoan Kiem District. After renting, cycle along the lake’s perimeter. Follow the signs towards Ngoc Son Temple or the Hoan Kiem Lake. When you reach the The Huc Bridge, park your bicycle at a nearby rack. The rental fee can vary, but expect to pay around 20,000 to 40,000 VND per hour.
