Getting There

• Cyclo

  Start in the center of Hue, near the Imperial City. Hire a cyclo (a three-wheeled bicycle taxi) and ask the driver to take you to Thuy Tien Lake (Hồ Thủy Tiên). The driver will head south on Le Loi Street and continue onto Tran Hung Dao Street. After a few kilometers, you will pass by the Perfume River. Keep an eye out for scenic views along the way. The driver will eventually take a right turn onto Thuy Bieu Street, and you will know you’re getting close. The lake is located in Thuy Bằng, Hương Thủy, Thua Thien Hue, which is approximately 15 kilometers from the city center. The trip should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

• Motorbike Taxi (Xe Ôm)

  From your location in Hue, you can book a motorbike taxi (xe ôm) through a local app or by hailing one on the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to Thuy Tien Lake. The driver will navigate through the city, typically taking the route through Le Loi Street and Tran Hung Dao Street, then veering onto Thuy Bieu Street towards Thuy Bằng. The ride will take about 20-30 minutes and cost around 50,000 to 100,000 VND, depending on your starting point.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Hue. From the Imperial City, head south on Le Loi Street and then turn onto Tran Hung Dao Street. Continue riding until you reach the intersection with Thuy Bieu Street. Turn right onto Thuy Bieu Street and follow it until you arrive at Thuy Tien Lake. The total distance is approximately 15 kilometers, and it may take about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on your biking speed and stops along the way.
