If you are traveling by car, start from Hanoi. Take National Highway 3 towards Cao Bang. The journey will take approximately 7-8 hours. Once you reach Cao Bang, follow the signs to Trùng Khánh District and continue until you reach Đàm Thủy. From Đàm Thủy, follow the local road signs to Ban Gioc Waterfalls, which is about 30 km away. Parking is available near the waterfalls, but there may be a small fee.
Public Bus
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Hanoi to Cao Bang. Buses leave from My Dinh Bus Station and the journey takes around 6-8 hours. Upon arriving at Cao Bang, you can take a local bus or shared taxi to Trùng Khánh District. From Trùng Khánh, you can hire a motorbike taxi or take another local bus to reach Ban Gioc Waterfalls, which is approximately 30 km away. Be prepared for an additional cost for the motorbike taxi, typically around 100,000 VND.
Motorbike Rental
If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a motorbike in Cao Bang. After arriving in the city, you can find several rental shops. Once you have your motorbike, head towards Trùng Khánh District, following the same route as with the local bus. The ride is scenic and allows you to explore the area at your own pace. Just be cautious of the local traffic and road conditions. The rental cost is usually around 150,000-250,000 VND per day.
