To reach the Hue Historic Citadel via public transportation, take a local bus from the central bus station in Hue. Buses heading towards 'Phong Nha' or 'Hue Citadel' are common. The fare is typically around 15,000 to 30,000 VND. Once you arrive at the stop labeled 'Hue Citadel,' follow the signs to the entrance, which is just a short walk from the bus stop.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
Using a taxi or a ride-hailing service like Grab is a convenient option to reach the Hue Historic Citadel. Simply input 'Hue Historic Citadel' or 'Huế, Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam' as your destination in the app. The cost for a ride from the city center to the citadel is generally around 50,000 to 100,000 VND, depending on traffic and distance.
Walking
If you are staying close to the city center of Hue, you can also walk to the Hue Historic Citadel. The citadel is approximately a 20 to 30-minute walk from most central hotels. Head east on Le Loi Street, cross the Perfume River via the Trang Tien Bridge, and continue straight until you see the entrance to the citadel. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
